Pusan National University College of Nursing Donates 100 Million Won for 70th Anniversary Development Fund... "Stepping Stone for the Next 100 Years"

Donation Campaign Continues from June Last Year to This May, Inspiring Many
"To Be Used for Continuing the History and Tradition of the College of Nursing and Fostering Future Talent"

The College of Nursing at Pusan National University, celebrating its 70th anniversary, has taken a meaningful step toward the university's development. On May 9, Pusan National University announced that the College of Nursing had donated a total of 102.2 million won as a development fund to the university.

This development fund was raised over approximately one year, from June 2024 to May of this year, with the participation of a total of 174 people, including undergraduate and graduate alumni and professors from the College of Nursing. In particular, the fundraising campaign gained momentum in June 2024 when alumna Kim Jeongsun, who currently serves as the chairperson of the College of Nursing Development Foundation, donated 10 million won.

The donation ceremony, held at the university president's office on this day, was attended by President Choi Jaewon, Vice President for External Affairs and Strategy Park Sanghoo, Dean of the College of Nursing Jeong Insook, Chairperson of the 70th Anniversary Project Committee Hwang Seongyeong, Alumni Association President Jang Wooyeon, and Graduate Alumni Association President Lee Jiwon, who reflected on the significance of establishing the development fund.

Jeong Insook, Dean of the College of Nursing, said, "I was deeply moved by the participation of alumni and professors in celebrating the 70th anniversary," adding, "This development fund will serve as a solid foundation as the College of Nursing moves toward its centennial."

On this day, Pusan National University also established a "Donor Hall of Honor" to honor the intentions of the donors and provided an opportunity for the College of Nursing community to share solidarity and gratitude.

President Choi Jaewon stated, "I would like to thank everyone who has come together for the advancement of the College of Nursing," and added, "The donations will be used meaningfully to enhance the educational and research capabilities of the College of Nursing and to foster future nursing talent."

With its official 70th anniversary approaching next year, the College of Nursing at Pusan National University has presented a vision to become a global-level nursing education institution through educational innovation and advanced research.
