This was a flawless start for defending champion Yeawon Lee. On May 9, at the Suwon Country Club in Gyeonggi Province (par 72, 6,597 yards), during the first round of the NH Investment & Securities Ladies Championship on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour (total prize money of 1 billion won), she shot a 7-under-par 65, laying the groundwork for victory.

Yeawon Lee delivered a perfect performance, carding seven birdies without a single bogey. Starting on the 10th hole (par 4), she gained momentum with consecutive birdies on the 11th and 12th holes, followed by another birdie on the 14th hole (par 4). She then added birdies on the 18th and 2nd holes, and made back-to-back birdies again on the 4th and 5th holes, propelling herself to the top of the leaderboard. This sets her up for her second win of the season and the eighth victory of her career, following her win at the Doosan Construction We’ve Championship last month.

Ye-eun Lee, who collected three wins last year, also performed well at Suwon Country Club. In this tournament last year, she achieved a wire-to-wire victory by maintaining the lead from the first round to the final round. In a pre-tournament interview, she expressed strong confidence about winning back-to-back titles, saying, "This course really suits me."
