On May 9, Namyangju City held the 2025 Labor-Management-Government-Civil Council appointment ceremony and meeting at Yeoyudang in city hall, where a "Joint Declaration of Labor-Management-Government-Civil" was adopted to overcome the complex economic crisis caused by high inflation, high interest rates, and high exchange rates. The meeting was attended by 12 appointed council members representing labor, management, citizens, and government, including Mayor Joo, marking the official start of their activities.
Mayor Joo emphasized, "To build a mega-city of one million people that exceeds imagination, it is essential to establish a regional governance system where labor, management, citizens, and government coexist and cooperate," and stressed, "We will ensure economic recovery and revitalize the local economy."
The joint declaration adopted at this meeting includes: realizing the development of a future-oriented self-sufficient city; strengthening support for small and medium-sized enterprises; providing region-specific employment and education support; creating a safe working environment by eliminating labor blind spots; and establishing a cooperative governance system based on coexistence and mutual prosperity.
In particular, Mayor Joo expressed his commitment to focusing on practical measures based on the Silhak (pragmatic learning) philosophy of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong.
In addition to the adoption of the declaration, the meeting also included a report on the activities of Namyangju City's Labor Safety Guardians to prevent industrial accidents and discussed plans to hold a job fair in 2025.
The Namyangju City Labor-Management-Government-Civil Council plans to continue building a sustainable economic ecosystem and proactively address local issues through ongoing cooperation among the public, private sector, labor, and management.
