Discussion on Innovative Measures for Construction Site Safety
The Korea Land and Safety Management Institute announced that it held the "2025 Smart Construction Safety Forum" on the 9th at the Science and Technology Convention Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The forum was organized to expand the on-site application of smart technologies and to seek improvements in related systems. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Institute, and was supervised by the Korea Smart Construction Safety Association.
The forum was attended by a large number of construction safety experts from industry, academia, research, and government, including the Director of Technology and Safety Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. They focused on discussing safety management measures at construction sites utilizing new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data.

In the first part, keynote presentations were delivered by Kim Hyungkwan, a professor at Yonsei University, and Choi Eunsu, CEO of Intellivix, each addressing the topic of "Directions for Innovation in Construction Safety in the AI Era." The subsequent panel discussion was chaired by Oh Jongsik, Director of Research at the Korea Land and Safety Management Institute, and included experts from government, public institutions, academia, and the legal field, who exchanged views on the current status of technology adoption and ways to improve related systems.
From the second to the fourth sessions, technical presentations featured technologies under development by a total of 14 specialized organizations, including accident prediction technology, big data-based decision-making solutions, extended reality (XR) experiential training, and safety robot utilization measures. On-site, a technology exhibition with participation from 12 companies was also held, allowing participants to experience a variety of smart construction safety technologies firsthand.
In his congratulatory speech, Kim Ilhwan, President of the Institute, stated, "We will continue to make efforts to ensure that field-oriented smart safety technologies take root," adding, "We also plan to strengthen cooperation with related organizations and the industry."
