This year, in cooperation with the Korea Single-Parent Family Welfare Facility Association, the foundation will provide home-visit learning material services operated by Kyowon Kumon to approximately 200 children from low-income single-parent families across the country, ranging from preschoolers aged 3 to 7 to elementary, middle, and high school students.
The subjects supported for beneficiary children this year include all subjects such as Korean, mathematics, English, science, and a second foreign language. Beneficiary children can choose the subjects they wish to study, and a professional teacher will visit their home to conduct the lessons.
The Shin Kyukho Lotte Dream! DREAM Single-Parent Family Education Support Project was launched in 2021 to address the widening educational gap and reduce the educational expenses burden on single-parent families, both of which have become more pronounced since the COVID-19 pandemic.
To date, a total of 754 children have benefited from this project, with cumulative support funds reaching approximately 490 million won. The Lotte Scholarship Foundation stated, "We will continue our social contribution activities to expand educational opportunities for underprivileged children and youth."
