Through Shipping Industry Job Training
The Korea Labor-Management Development Foundation Gwangju Middle-Aged Tomorrow Center will operate the "Honam Region Shipping Industry Specialized Coastal Passenger Ship Crew Training Course" over three days on the 8th, 9th, and 12th at the Korea Shipping Association Southwest Regional Headquarters and the coastal shipping area. The Gwangju Middle-Aged Tomorrow Center of the Korea Labor-Management Development Foundation (Director: Kim Insu) will operate the "Honam Region Shipping Industry Specialized Coastal Passenger Ship Crew Training Course" over three days on May 8, 9, and 12 at the Korea Shipping Association Southwest Regional Headquarters and the surrounding coastal shipping area.
This training will be conducted in the Honam region (Gwangju, Jeju, Mokpo, Gunsan) and will begin with a job briefing session for coastal passenger ship crew members, followed by basic job training and advanced training. In addition, to support job transitions and reemployment for middle-aged individuals wishing to enter the shipping industry, a car ferry boarding experience will be provided to enhance participants' understanding of the actual job site.
For those who complete the training, customized one-on-one counseling, resume photo services, and employment support meetings with companies in the shipping industry will be offered to facilitate tailored job placement support.
Kim Insu, Director of the Gwangju Middle-Aged Tomorrow Center, stated, "With the aging of the crew workforce, there is an urgent need to attract new personnel. We will actively support job creation for the middle-aged by establishing a close cooperation system with organizations in the shipping industry."
