Gijang County, together with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Korea Fisheries Association, will run the refund event for five days from May 9 to May 13, at 74 seafood stores within the Gijang Market autonomous commercial district.

The event will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and only purchasers of domestic seafood will be eligible to receive a certain amount refunded as Onnuri gift certificates. The event may end early if the budget is exhausted.

The refund standards are as follows: for purchases of at least 34,000 won but less than 67,000 won, 10,000 won will be refunded; for purchases of 67,000 won or more, 20,000 won will be refunded. Receipts can be combined, and refunds can be claimed at the refund booth at any time during the event period. However, purchases made using the Susaendaejeon mobile gift certificate or payments at general restaurants are not eligible for refunds.

The refund process is simple. After purchasing products at a seafood store, the seller registers the purchase details in the easy refund system. The buyer then verifies their identity at the refund booth on the first floor of the Gijang Market public parking lot and receives the Onnuri gift certificate.

County Governor Jeong Jongbok said, "I hope families will visit the traditional market together, purchase fresh seafood at affordable prices, and share warmth with one another," adding, "We ask for your interest and participation so that this event can bring vitality to the traditional market and the local economy."

Gijang County announced that it will thoroughly manage the event to ensure transparent operation and strictly prevent fraudulent activities, such as including imported seafood or duplicate refunds, during the event period.
