On May 8, Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byungjun) announced that the Korea Modern Poets Association (Chairman Jegal Jungwoong) had donated 7,120,000 KRW for the recovery of wildfire damage in the Yeongnam region.


This donation was raised through the voluntary participation of poets belonging to the Korea Modern Poets Association throughout the month of April, and will be used for relief activities such as supporting housing and livelihoods for disaster victims.


Jegal Jungwoong, Chairman of the Korea Modern Poets Association, stated, "I hope that this heartfelt support from poets will provide some comfort to those suffering from wildfire damage," and added, "We will continue to carry out various sharing activities for our neighbors in need in society."


Hwang Insik, Secretary General of Community Chest of Korea, said, "The sincerity gathered by poets with one heart will be a great source of strength for disaster victims," and added, "The donations will be executed quickly and transparently according to the needs on the ground."
