Excellence Contest for Everyday Sustainable Practices...
Total Prize Money of 7 Million Won
Haenam County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Myung Hyun-gwan), will hold a Sustainable Development Practice Excellence Contest until June 2 to discover and share examples of sustainable development practices in daily life.
This contest has been organized to encourage voluntary participation by residents and community members for the realization of the Haenam County Sustainable Development Goals (H-SDGs), and to widely disseminate outstanding cases that contribute to the region's sustainable development.
The contest is themed "A Better Future Begins with Everyday Practice." Eligible entries include examples of voluntary practices in residents’ daily lives, as well as cases of sustainable development cooperation projects promoted by institutions, organizations, or companies. Submissions must be linked to at least one of Haenam County's 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
In particular, the evaluation will focus on examples related to the five key strategies: climate and environment, society and culture, industry and economy, and peace and governance. Anyone can participate, including individuals, small groups, public institutions, companies, schools, and organizations. Applications can be submitted by downloading the form from the county website’s public notice section and submitting it in person, by mail, or by email.
The county plans to select a total of 10 winners through a document review and presentation evaluation process, including six residents and four public officials. The top prize is a Haenam Love Gift Certificate worth 1.5 million won, the excellence prize is worth 1 million won, and the encouragement prize is worth 500,000 won. The winning entries will be compiled and distributed as a collection of best practices in the future.
A county official stated, "Sustainable development begins with the voluntary actions of each and every resident," and added, "We hope that this contest will serve as an opportunity to discover and share various examples that are naturally practiced in our daily lives, so that we can build a sustainable future for Haenam together."
