Gochang County Holds Generous Hometown Love Donation Event Until May 31

Gochang County in North Jeolla Province is launching the "May 1+1+1 Generous Event" for the Hometown Love Donation Program in celebration of Family Month in May, aiming to encourage greater participation and offer abundant benefits to donors.

According to the county on May 8, this event will run for one month until May 31. During the event period, those who donate 100,000 won or more to the Hometown Love Donation Program will be automatically entered into a random drawing. Twenty-five winners will each receive local specialty products worth 30,000 won as an additional gift.

To participate, simply donate 100,000 won or more through the Hometown Love e-Eum platform or at any NongHyup Bank or agricultural cooperative branch nationwide. All qualifying donors will be automatically entered, and the winners will be notified individually via text message after June 9.

A county official stated, "We have prepared this event to express our gratitude to donors who show their love for their hometown during Family Month in May by offering them special benefits," adding, "We hope that through this event, more people will join the Hometown Love Donation Program and experience the charm of Gochang."

Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation Program, now in its third year, allows individuals to donate up to 20 million won annually to local governments other than their place of residence. Donations of 100,000 won or less are fully tax-deductible, while amounts exceeding this are eligible for a 16.5% tax deduction. Donors may also receive return gifts worth up to 30% of their donation amount.
