OLED Emitting Material Usage Expected to Increase by 28% Year-on-Year This Year

It is projected that the amount of light-emitting materials used in organic light-emitting diode (OLED) production this year will increase by 28% compared to the previous year.

According to the "2025 OLED Emitting Materials Report" recently published by market research firm UBI Research on May 8, the amount of OLED emitting materials used last year was 129 tons, which represents an increase of nearly 30% from the previous year's 101 tons.

This growth trend has been attributed to an increase in shipments by panel manufacturers in both Korea and China. In particular, the surge in shipments of rigid OLEDs by Samsung Display, which holds the highest market share, has led to an increase in material usage.

UBI Research forecasts that the amount of OLED emitting materials used this year will exceed 165 tons, with 111 tons in Korea and 54.4 tons in China. Furthermore, the figure is expected to rise to 230 tons by 2029.

No Changho, a research fellow at UBI Research, stated, "The demand for OLED emitting materials by Korean panel manufacturers is expected to reach 150 tons in 2029, while demand from Chinese panel manufacturers is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 10.3%, reaching 80.6 tons in 2029."
