Gwangjin District Teaches Smart Study Habits Through School Visits

Gwangjin District (District Mayor Kim Kyungho) is operating a "Learning Consulting Program Visiting Schools" to strengthen students' self-directed learning abilities and help them resolve academic concerns.

Self-directed learning is a study method in which students set their own goals and carry out and evaluate their learning based on their own choices. By actively participating in their own learning, students can acquire knowledge more effectively and proactively. This approach helps develop problem-solving skills, boosts confidence and a sense of achievement, and greatly assists students in growing into future talents.

The consulting program is being conducted at six middle and high schools in the district. Starting with Guui Middle School on May 7, a total of 674 students will be taught self-directed learning methods over a two-month period until July.

Professional instructors will share know-how on topics such as: exploring learning styles; the necessity of self-management and mental care; setting up study plans; and utilizing learning tools.

In particular, students will be introduced to time management methods such as the Pomodoro Timer and AI Danchoo Plus, as well as how to use artificial intelligence learning services, enabling them to study more effectively.

After the lecture, 1:1 personalized consulting will also be provided. Individualized counseling sessions will be offered for each student on topics such as career paths, university admissions, and academics, aiming to address their specific questions.

Kim Kyungho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, stated, "It is important to help students learn and grow on their own in a rapidly changing educational environment. I hope that through this consulting program, students will learn study methods that suit them," adding, "We will continue to actively support students so that they can grow into healthy local talents through customized educational programs."

Last year as well, the district provided learning consulting to 617 students at five schools, continuing its efforts to establish itself as a future-oriented education city.
