Evaluation Includes Social Contribution and Knowledge Sharing
Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province announced on May 8 that it will be accepting applications from local candidates for the selection of "2025 New Knowledge Farmers" until May 23.
The term "New Knowledge Farmer" refers to leading farmers who drive agricultural innovation by integrating new knowledge and technology into every stage of agriculture?including production, processing, and distribution?to create added value and share these achievements with society.
There are no restrictions regarding age, gender, or educational background for applicants. Any farmer or agricultural corporation engaged in agriculture or related industries is eligible to apply. The selection criteria include a comprehensive evaluation of the following: ▲ the degree of utilization of knowledge and technology ▲ creativity and value creation ▲ the extent to which achievements are shared with society.
Selected farmers will receive the "New Knowledge Farmer Medal" from the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and will also be given opportunities to participate in various policy programs such as on-site practical training (WPL) and a leading farmer mentoring program.
Applications can be submitted through the relevant department in each city or county. The final selection will be made by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs after a document review and on-site evaluation. This open call is expected to highlight creative and action-oriented farmers from the province on a national scale.
Kim Sinjung, Director of the Agricultural Life Policy Division of the province, stated, "The New Knowledge Farmer system is a very important program that connects vivid field experience and innovative cases with agricultural policy," and added, "We ask for the active interest and participation of local farmers who wish to transform agriculture with creative knowledge and technology."
