Since March, the district has worked for two months in collaboration with the Seogu Community Social Security Council's Neighbor Care Subcommittee to provide an emotional support program through art therapy for elderly individuals at high risk of solitary death. This initiative aimed to address social isolation and help foster stable relationships.

The exhibition will run until the 14th and will feature 38 works, including portraits and other pieces visualizing the participants' own images and emotions through drawings and photographs, created by 10 program participants.

Through their artistic activities, the participants reflected on their lives, found time to heal their inner loneliness, and alleviated their sense of isolation by sharing their experiences and emotions through each other's artwork.

The participants said, "After spending all my time inside my room, coming out into the world and taking part in this program made me very happy and made me feel alive," adding, "It is a new and moving experience to be able to present the drawings we created together over the past two months to many people through this exhibition."

District Mayor Kim Ikang stated, "Breaking emotional isolation and restoring relationships is the first step in preventing solitary deaths," and added, "I hope this exhibition, which contains the courageous self-expression of each elderly participant, will resonate warmly throughout the community."

Meanwhile, the district is operating various initiatives to prevent solitary deaths, including the "Our Neighborhood Neighbor Care Team," which checks in on residents through home visits, and the "Lonely Life, Professional Counseling Program," which provides in-depth counseling support.
