Customized Father Classes for Kindergarten, Elementary, and Middle School Ages
Character, Career, and Communication Education Held After Work
The Gwangju Education Citizen Cooperation Promotion Institute will operate the '2025 Father Classroom' program for fathers with children in kindergarten, elementary, and middle school. The program will be held three times from June to September, according to the age group of the children.
According to the Gwangju Office of Education on May 8, this program was designed to help fathers communicate with their children and enhance mutual understanding. It will focus on four main areas: character education, academic guidance, sex education, and life prevention education. All classes will start at 7 p.m. to allow participation after work.
The schedule is divided by the age of the children. The elementary school Father Classroom will be held in June, the kindergarten Father Classroom in July, and the middle school Father Classroom in September.
The first session, the 'Elementary School Father Classroom,' will cover topics such as becoming a healthy parent, guiding children's education and career paths, and leading sex education for children. It will include content necessary for raising elementary school-aged children.
The 'Kindergarten Father Classroom' will focus on gender sensitivity, effective discipline methods, and parenting in a digital environment, centering on relationships with young children. The 'Middle School Father Classroom' will address communication with adolescent children, career guidance, and media literacy education.
Each course will be limited to the first 25 registrants. Applications for the 'Elementary School Father Classroom' can be submitted through the Gwangju Office of Education Parent Support Center website from 10 a.m. on May 9 to 5 p.m. on May 23. Details for the kindergarten and middle school sessions will be announced later.
