Oldest Successful Candidate Aged 75
On May 8, the Gwangju Office of Education announced the successful candidates for the '2025 First Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Examination' through its official website.
Out of 1,523 applicants, 1,361 took the exam: 119 for the elementary level, 255 for the middle school level, and 987 for the high school level. Among them, 1,099 passed, resulting in an overall average pass rate of 80.75%. This is 0.75 percentage points lower than the second examination held last year.
The oldest successful candidates were 75 years old for the elementary level, 69 years old for the middle school level, and 70 years old for the high school level.
Certificates of passing will be issued at the Exam Management Office on the first floor of the annex building of the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education until May 23. Postal delivery will also be provided for the convenience of examinees. Certificates of passing, transcripts, and subject pass certificates can be issued from today via the NAISE public service website after logging in with a joint authentication certificate. These documents can also be printed at unmanned civil service issuance machines located in elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide, education office civil service rooms, and administrative welfare centers.
