"Is This the Place?"... Shocking Update on the Windows Wallpaper Location The current appearance of the actual location where the famous Windows XP wallpaper "Bliss" was photographed is becoming a hot topic among netizens. On the 6th, the British Daily Mail reported, "Many netizens were disappointed by the changed appearance of the real place where the photo 'Bliss,' used as the Windows XP wallpaper, was taken." Daily Mail

This photo was taken by photographer Charles O'Rear in 1998 while passing through Napa Valley, United States. The outlet explained, "At that time, he saw a clean vineyard, stopped his car, and took this photo. The vineyard appeared so neat because the fields had been cleared after a pest infestation the previous year."

In 2001, Microsoft selected this beautiful landscape, which looks like computer graphics (CG), as the default wallpaper for its Windows XP operating system. Because of its unreal beauty, 'Bliss' was sometimes mistaken for CG. For the next 16 years, it remained the default wallpaper for Windows. During this period, as computers and the internet developed rapidly, the photo became so widely recognized that even people who did not know the title 'Bliss' were still familiar with the image itself.

Meanwhile, a netizen recently shared on social media how the actual location has changed over time. According to the outlet, netizens who saw the current photos could not hide their disappointment, saying, "It looks so different from the photo." The outlet reported, "Social media users claim that, 27 years after the photo was taken, this famous location has become desolate. As can be seen in the photos, the hill that became the background for so many computers has now been replaced by a vineyard."

In response to the desolate appearance, netizens expressed regret, saying, "Whenever I think of it, I stare at it for a few minutes and wish I could go there, so this is really sad," "In 10 years, it might become a parking lot," and "The vivid and colorful world has turned into a dull gray." Some netizens also commented, "It's just an issue with the photo; Bliss is still a beautiful vineyard," and "It may look different depending on the season."
