National Security Office Holds Security Assessment Meeting on North Korean Ballistic Missile Launch

The National Security Office held a security situation assessment meeting on May 8 in response to North Korea's launch of a short-range ballistic missile into the East Sea.

The office announced that the meeting, presided over by Sung Hwan In, Deputy Director 2 of the National Security Office, was attended by relevant agencies including the Joint Chiefs of Staff. During the meeting, participants shared information on the North Korean missile situation and discussed future response measures.

The government stated that it will continue to closely monitor North Korea's movements and maintain a state of full readiness to respond to any provocations.
