Oldest High School Graduate at 78, Youngest Elementary School Graduate at 11
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Changsu) announced on May 8 that 457 individuals passed the '2025 First Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Exam' on the office's official website.
A total of 678 people registered for the exam held on April 5, with 598 actually taking the test. Out of these, 457 passed, resulting in a pass rate of 76.42%.
By exam level, there were 29 elementary school passers (96.67%), 76 middle school passers (83.52%), and 352 high school passers (73.79%). The highest scores were 98.33 points by two elementary school examinees, 98.66 points by one middle school examinee, and a perfect score of 100 points by one high school examinee.
The oldest successful candidates were Ms. Kim (75 years old, female) for the elementary level, Ms. Park (66 years old, female) for the middle school level, and Ms. Ha (78 years old, female) for the high school level. The youngest successful candidates were Ms. Ryu (11 years old) for the elementary level, Mr. Park (12 years old) for the middle school level, and Mr. Kim (12 years old) for the high school level.
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education will distribute certificates either by regular mail or in person, depending on the method requested by each successful candidate after the announcement of results.
Individual score inquiries can be made from May 8, the date of the announcement, until May 23, through the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education's official announcement website or the equivalency exam public service portal.
