"With Added Gim Flavor"... Nongshim Launches 'Cleopatra Salt & Gim'

The Second Release in the Cleopatra Potato Chip Snack Series

Nongshim announced on May 8 that it will launch the second product in its Cleopatra potato chip snack series, "Cleopatra Salt & Gim." This product features crispy, lightly seasoned potato chips enhanced with the savory flavor of domestically produced gim (seaweed).

A Nongshim representative explained, "Following the aromatic flavor of 'Salt & Olive,' which was released in February, we are introducing the second product, 'Salt & Gim,' which highlights the savory taste of Korean gim that has recently gained great popularity among overseas consumers."

Nongshim's Cleopatra first drew attention in 1980 with its concept of a fresh potato snack and a product name inspired by the Egyptian queen. In February, Nongshim reintroduced the product after about 40 years with the launch of "Cleopatra Salt & Olive," and also released a remastered version of the 1983 commercial featuring the late Lee Juil as the model.

Nongshim Cleopatra Salt & Gim will be available at retail stores nationwide and through e-commerce channels starting May 19.
