Lee Injae (62), a professor in the Department of Economics, has been appointed as the fourth president of Incheon National University.
On May 7, Incheon National University announced that it had received an official government notification from the Ministry of Education regarding the appointment of Professor Lee as president.
Previously, Incheon National University selected Professor Lee as the final candidate for president through an online vote by the policy evaluation committee and a resolution by the board of directors, before recommending him to the Ministry of Education.
The new president, Lee, graduated from Incheon High School and the Department of Law at Seoul National University, and received his Ph.D. in Economics from New York University in the United States. He has served as a professor in the Department of Economics at Incheon National University since 2008 and was Vice President for External Affairs in 2023.
Externally, he has served as president of the Korean Labor Economics Association and as president of the Korea Labor Institute. He is currently serving as chairperson of the Minimum Wage Commission and chairperson of the Work-Life Balance Committee of the Economic, Social and Labor Council.
President Lee's term will begin on May 10 and run for four years, until May 9, 2029.
