Busan Transportation Corporation Expands Real-Time Urban Railway Information to Kakao and Naver

Real-time train information for the Busan Urban Railway is now available on the Naver Map, Kakao Subway, and Kakao Bus apps.

Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) announced that, starting from May 8, it will expand the provision of real-time train operation information?which was previously only available on Kakao Map?to major mobility platforms. As a result, passengers can now check a wide range of real-time information, including the current location of trains, as well as unusual situations such as delays, additional trains, and extended operations.

This measure aims to improve citizens' access to transportation information and enhance the convenience of using the urban railway. Previously, basic information such as estimated arrival times and disembarkation alarms was provided, but this was based on a timetable that assumed on-time operation, which limited its ability to respond in real time.

The corporation explained that it is now able to provide more accurate operational status by using data that reflects the actual location of trains. In particular, in the event of abnormal situations such as sudden delays or additional operations, the relevant information will be updated immediately, which is expected to improve citizens' satisfaction.

Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, stated, "Through major platforms such as Kakao and Naver, citizens can now access real-time information more easily and quickly," and added, "We will continue to expand citizen-centered transportation services based on digital technology."

Busan Transportation Corporation previously signed a business agreement with Kakao in 2018 and developed a real-time arrival information system, launching the service through Kakao Map. With the expansion of this agreement, the platforms providing real-time information are now being diversified in earnest, and changes are expected in the urban railway usage environment.
