Gumi Urban Corporation in Gyeongbuk recently hosted a 'family-friendly sports event' attended by around 200 employees and their families, aiming to build social consensus on overcoming the low birthrate issue.

This event was organized to promote family-friendly culture by allowing families to spend valuable time together, and to publicize the upcoming '2025 Gumi Asian Athletics Championships' to be held next year. In particular, it was evaluated as an opportunity to widely promote Gumi City's sports and tourism resources.


Gumi Urban Corporation has been holding sports events every year to promote communication and health among employees. This year, the event was planned with a focus on families, leading to the participation of many families accompanied by their children.


This is significant in that it delivered a positive message about spreading a 'family culture with children' as a way to overcome the low birthrate problem.


The event featured a variety of sports activities and family participation programs. A promotional booth for the '2025 Gumi Asian Athletics Championships' was also set up at the venue, attracting the attention of citizens.


Lee Jaewoong, President of Gumi Urban Corporation, said, "This event was a meaningful time not only for sports activities but also for reflecting on the importance of family and spreading a healthy family culture. We will continue to create a family-friendly corporate culture and promote various programs to help overcome the low birthrate and raise awareness of Gumi by working together with the local community."


Meanwhile, the '2025 Gumi Asian Athletics Championships' will be held at Gumi Citizen Stadium for five days from May 27 to 31, with about 1,200 athletes from 45 Asian countries competing in 45 events.
