Guro District Expands 'Seoul-type Hospitalization Living Expense' Support to 94,230 Won and Broadens Eligibility

Guro District (District Mayor Jang Inhong) announced that it will expand the operation of the 'Seoul-type Hospitalization Living Expense' support program.

The 'Seoul-type Hospitalization Living Expense' support program provides living expense assistance to workers with unstable employment, such as day laborers, mobile workers, freelancers, and part-time workers, so that they can focus on their treatment.

In particular, the program supports not only hospitalization but also outpatient treatment linked to hospitalization, and it is also applicable during the national general health checkup.

Starting this year, the maximum daily support amount has been increased from 91,480 won to 94,230 won, and the scope of eligible recipients has been expanded to include visiting workers such as domestic workers, cleaners, caregivers, private tutors, and study material instructors.

Eligible applicants are those who reside in Guro District, are local subscribers to the National Health Insurance, have a household income at or below 100% of the standard median income, have general assets of 350 million won or less, and have been hospitalized, received outpatient treatment linked to hospitalization, or undergone a health checkup. However, those who are hospitalized for cosmetic, plastic surgery, childbirth, or nursing purposes; those hospitalized in nursing hospitals or maternity centers; recipients of basic livelihood support, unemployment benefits, or industrial accident compensation; and foreign nationals are excluded from eligibility.

Applications for support funds can be submitted within 180 days from the date of admission, discharge, or health checkup, either by visiting the local community service center or Guro District Public Health Center, or online.

Jang Inhong, Mayor of Guro District, stated, "This expansion of the program is intended to help workers with unstable employment, such as day laborers and specially employed workers, receive timely treatment without financial burden," adding, "We will continue our efforts to eliminate medical blind spots in the future."
