Under the slogan "Lifelong Health! Happy Residents!",
providing diverse healthcare services including addressing medically underserved areas and infectious disease response
The Bonghwa County Public Health Center in Gyeongbuk recently received the "Excellence Award" at the 53rd Health Day Commemorative Public Health Policy Project Evaluation.
This evaluation was organized by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and assessed various public health policy projects carried out by 22 cities and counties within the province throughout 2024. The evaluation covered public health administration, pharmaceutical management, infectious disease response, health promotion, dementia and mental health projects, and home visit health services.
Under the slogan "Lifelong Health! Happy Residents!", the Bonghwa County Public Health Center has taken active responsibility for residents' health by providing a range of medical and health services. These include establishing a remote cooperative medical consultation system to address medically underserved areas, supporting pediatric and adolescent departments, operating a mobile healthcare program, and offering shingles vaccinations for those aged 60 and older.
Especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, as the importance of local public health institutions has grown, the Bonghwa County Public Health Center has built trust among residents by supporting vaccinations throughout the life cycle, establishing infectious disease response systems, and improving the medical and pharmaceutical environment.
Park Hyunkook, the governor of Bonghwa County, stated, "This award is the result of all residents coming together with one heart to improve community health," adding, "We will continue to actively promote the health and medical services needed by our residents and implement tailored public health policies."
