Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) announced on May 7 that it recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Elevator Safety Corporation (Honam Regional Headquarters Director Jung Taemyeon) at the Bitgoeul Customer Center to prevent safety accidents in elevators of rental housing.
This agreement was established to ensure the safety of citizens' residences by preventing safety accidents involving elevator users in rental housing and fostering a culture of safety. In particular, reflecting the characteristics of public rental housing where many socially vulnerable people reside, the focus will be on promoting effective, prevention-centered cooperation measures.
The main points of the agreement include: ▲ cooperation on elevator safety campaigns and the spread of a safety culture in rental housing; ▲ support for elevator safety inspections and improvements; ▲ technical support and training to prevent malfunctions and accidents; ▲ elevator safety education and promotional campaigns for residents; and ▲ sharing of elevator safety information.
President Kim Seungnam stated, "This agreement is the first step toward ensuring that citizens can use rental housing with greater peace of mind," and emphasized, "Going forward, the corporation will continue to work with the Korea Elevator Safety Corporation to achieve zero elevator safety accidents and take the lead in creating a safer residential environment."
