Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeollanamdo, visited the National Assembly on the 7th and met with Ahn Dogul, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, to actively propose the inclusion of Jeonnam's key tasks.
Jeonnam Province is making comprehensive efforts to ensure that the region's core issues are reflected in the pledges of political parties and presidential candidates ahead of the upcoming early presidential election.
On this day, Governor Kim explained Jeonnam's 10 core tasks for future regional development that should be prioritized in presidential campaign pledges, including: the creation of the "Solaseado AI Energy New City," the establishment of the "Energy AI Model City" in Naju, the promotion of a mega project for a major transformation of the "petrochemical and steel industries," the creation of an "AI Advanced Agriculture and Livestock Convergence District," the establishment of a "Second Space Center" within the space launch vehicle special zone, and the development of Muan International Airport as the "Northeast Asia's Leading Gateway Airport." He requested cooperation to ensure these tasks are adopted as official party pledges.
Governor Kim stated, "If the various policy tasks we have proposed are selected as national agenda items by the next administration, they will become new growth engines that will brighten Jeonnam's future. I ask for your interest and cooperation so that the presidential campaign pledges, which were developed by gathering the collective will of our residents, are adopted as official party pledges and further included as national agenda items by the next administration, laying the foundation for Jeonnam's future development."
Representative Ahn responded, "I recognize that the tasks proposed by Jeonnam are key strategies that will drive regional development. I will do my best to actively review and ensure that policies for regional economic recovery are reflected."
Jeonnam Province plans to continue visiting the election committees of each political party and presidential candidate to propose these pledges and to ensure that as many of them as possible are included in the next administration's national agenda.
