On May 7, at a general assembly held at the National Assembly, People Power Party lawmakers, including floor leader Kwon Seongdong, chanted slogans opposing the passage of the Democratic Party-led amendment to the Criminal Procedure Act?an amendment that would suspend trials upon a presidential election victory?by the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee, declaring their opposition to what they called the "Lee Jae-myung exoneration legislation."
