NHN Travel Doctor (CEO Yoon Taeseok, hereafter referred to as Travel Doctor) announced that it is holding a "Special Teacher Happiness Recharge Discount Event" in celebration of Teacher's Day. From May 12 to August 31, 2025, holders of teaching certificates will receive a 5% discount on overseas free travel and package tour products.
The teacher discount is provided up to a maximum of 100,000 KRW. If payment is made using a credit card company's discount event, an additional 5% discount can be applied, allowing for a maximum benefit of up to 200,000 KRW.
This event is part of Travel Doctor's signature appreciation campaign, which has been ongoing since 2017, and carries the message, "When teachers are happy, students are happy too." It is designed to allow teachers to take time for recovery through travel, creating a warm cycle in which these experiences positively influence their students' growth in the classroom.
Travel Doctor analyzed teachers' travel preferences based on participation data from discount events held after the 2025 College Scholastic Ability Test. Package tours accounted for an impressive 88% of all bookings. This reflects the desire of teachers, who are usually pressed for time due to academic schedules, to enjoy travel comfortably without the hassle of complicated preparations. Package tours, which include itinerary, flights, and accommodation, provide an option for relaxation without complex planning. In addition, approximately 67% of all bookings departed during the winter vacation period, between December and January, clearly indicating strong demand for travel during school breaks.
As for preferred travel destinations among teachers, Kyushu in Japan accounted for 39.1%, followed by Sydney at 18.6%. Osaka (15.4%), Chiang Mai (9.7%), and Turkiye (5.1%) followed in order. Kyushu, centered around Fukuoka, is a region where gourmet food, shopping, hot springs, and small-town travel are all combined, making it possible to enjoy a variety of experiences even on a short trip. Sydney is a city where world-famous landmarks such as the Opera House and Bondi Beach blend with beautiful beaches. Although it is a long-distance destination, demand from teachers wishing to experience new cultures during school breaks was evident.
A Travel Doctor representative stated, "We hope that this Teacher's Day discount event will not only support individual teachers, but also serve as an opportunity to bring new experiences and growth to entire classrooms through travel."
Meanwhile, this event can be accessed through the official Travel Doctor website and app. To receive the benefit, customers should leave a note requesting the teacher discount when booking a travel product and submit their teaching certificate to the staff in charge.
