Korean Painting Exhibition, Color Exhibition - Meditation in Everyday Life, and Kim Kyunghee Jogakbo Exhibition until June 5
BNK Busan Bank (President Bang Seongbin) announced on May 7 that it is holding several exhibitions capturing the scent of May at the 'BNK Busan Bank Gallery' located in Sinchang-dong.
Until May 11, the gallery is hosting 'Youth Orbit - Our Revolution' by Cheongnyeon Jakdangso. This exhibition retraces the growth and changes of young artists over the past five years, showcasing their journeys as artists through a variety of media, including early drawings, experimental installations, and video works. The exhibition is themed around 'My Past, My Present, My Future,' and presents the artists' concerns, challenges, attempts, and expansions.
From May 13 to 19, the gallery will hold the '18th Korean Painting Exhibition' by Kyungsung University Lifelong Education Center. Through a diverse range of works that encompass both tradition and modernity, this exhibition reexamines the beauty of Korean painting. It explores new possibilities for Korean painting by reinterpreting traditional subjects such as Sagunja, Hwajodo, and Sansuhwa with a contemporary sensibility.
'Color Exhibition - Meditation in Everyday Life,' which runs from May 20 to 29, features three painters: Park Kyunghee, Yoon Heebae, and Shin Jiyeon. Each artist expresses their experiences and encounters from daily life in their own unique style, crossing the boundaries between reality and ideal. The exhibition aims to provide visitors with a deep sense of empathy for each artist's work, as well as a quiet, moving experience that resonates in their hearts.
Finally, until June 5, the gallery will present 'Sparkling Tradition,' a contemporary Jogakbo exhibition by Kim Kyunghee. This exhibition features works by Kim Kyunghee, who approaches the creative succession of tradition as her motif. Drawing on a deep awareness of tradition, the artist seeks to expand Jogakbo into contemporary fiber art, reinterpreting it in new ways. Through this, she aims to create new value for sparkling tradition that permeates everyday life.
Kim Yongkyu, Head of the Management Strategy Group at Busan Bank, stated, "We will continue to make efforts so that art and culture can come closer to people, and we will create exhibitions that communicate with even more visitors."
Since opening the BNK Busan Bank Gallery in 2011, Busan Bank has supported more than 340 free gallery rentals and has assigned a dedicated curator to ensure that exhibitions run smoothly.
