Shinhan Bank announced on May 7 that it has opened the 'SOL Travel Lounge Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station' at Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station on Seoul Subway Line 2, where customers can exchange currencies from 10 different countries.
The SOL Travel Lounge is an offline extension of the group's flagship travel card brand, the 'SOL Travel Card.' It is an unmanned, automated branch that, for the first time among domestic commercial banks, offers currency exchange services for 10 different currencies. The lounge operates 365 days a year without any holidays.
Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station is a popular location for office workers in the city center as well as foreign tourists. With the opening of this branch, Shinhan Bank now operates a total of six 'SOL Travel Lounge' locations at major hubs, including Seoul Station, Nonhyeon-dong, Seongsu-dong, Jamsil Lotte World, and Pangyo.
Customers visiting the lounge can exchange and receive up to $2,000 in any of the four major currencies (US dollar, Japanese yen, euro, and Chinese yuan), as well as a total of 10 different currencies. When using Shinhan SOL Bank's 'SOL Easy Exchange' service, customers can receive up to a 90% exchange rate benefit for US dollars, Japanese yen, and euros, and up to 50% for the other currencies.
A Shinhan Bank representative stated, "We will continue to do our best to enhance customer convenience by expanding installations at major locations nationwide and by offering a variety of products and services."
Meanwhile, to celebrate surpassing 2 million 'Shinhan SOL Travel Check Cards' issued, Shinhan Bank is accepting entries for a short-form challenge contest until May 16.
