"Here's How We Can Overcome the Logistics Crisis"
The Department of Port Logistics Systems at Dongmyung University (President Lee Sangcheon), headed by Professor Park Doojin, will host a special lecture on "Port Logistics and Domestic Competitiveness of Newly Built Ships" at 2 p.m. on May 8. The lecture will feature Jung Taekeum, Director at Dongmyung Technology Co., Ltd., as a guest speaker.
On this day, Director Jung Taekeum will share with fourth-year students in the Department of Port Logistics Systems vivid insights on overcoming the global logistics crisis experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. He will discuss several key solutions: the trend toward larger maritime transport vessels, economic improvements and realization of economies of scale through technological advancements, job creation through the revitalization of future ship repair companies, and the use of repair ship berthing facilities and docks.
This special lecture is part of the "Industry-Academia Convergence Course" (3 credits), in which professors and industry experts teach together, providing students with practical, real-world content.
Professor Park Hyosang of the department explained that Dongmyung University's "Industry-Academia Convergence Course" is unique in that professors teach for 13 out of 15 weeks of the major course, while industry experts deliver lectures during the remaining 2 weeks.
