Held Through YES24's Reading Community 'Sarak'
Participants Receive a 1,000-Won Gift Certificate
YES24, a cultural content platform, announced on May 7 that it will be holding a book club event throughout May on its reading community 'Sarak'.
This event was organized to encourage participation in book clubs with loved ones during Family Month in May. It will be held through YES24's reading community 'Sarak', which makes it easy to create and manage book clubs.
Participants in the event will receive various benefits. YES24 will give gifts to those who read family-themed books and hold book club meetings. Every member who submits a review of their book club's chosen book will receive a 1,000-won YES gift certificate. Additionally, curated book recommendations in various fields such as literature and humanities will be provided for readers who have difficulty choosing a book.
The 'Sarak Author Club' will also be held. Notable May author clubs where participants can read books with authors, editors, publishers, and influencers include a book talk on 'Five Selected Works of Hermann Hesse' with Professor Hong Jin-ho of Seoul National University's Department of German Language and Literature, a group for writing thoughts with the author of 'Idea Source', and a 'History of Korean Philosophy' club with YES24's humanities PD Son Min-kyu. Every member participating in the May author clubs will receive a 1,000-won YES gift certificate.
There will also be a 'Show Off Our Club' event. Among members who post a 'photo review' on the Sarak book club board, 100 will be selected by lottery to receive a 1,000-won YES gift certificate.
Yoo Seo-young, head of the YES24 Community Team, said, "Seeing book clubs that regularly meet as families on YES24's reading community 'Sarak' inspired us to plan this Family Month event," adding, "We hope this event will be an opportunity for not only families but also acquaintances and friends to experience deeper connections through reading together."
Since its launch in August last year, YES24's reading community 'Sarak' has seen the creation of more than 1,900 general book clubs. Author clubs have been held approximately 70 times.
