Press Conference Held at Cheonan City Hall...
"The Next President Must Be Strong on the Economy and Truly Care About People's Livelihoods"
Businesspeople from the Chungcheong region declared their support for Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae Myung at the Cheonan City Hall briefing room on the 7th.
On May 7, 257 businesspeople from the Chungcheong region declared their support for Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae Myung at the Cheonan City Hall briefing room.
The declaration of support was attended by businesspeople from the Chungcheong region, as well as Democratic Party National Assembly member Moon Jinseok (Cheonan Gap), and Kim Hakmin, head of the Iroun Economic Research Institute, among others.
They stated, "The early presidential election to be held on June 3 is a critical turning point for the Republic of Korea, going beyond a simple change of government and providing an opportunity for the nation to take a new leap forward." They added, "This is a crucial moment when we must revive the livelihoods of the people and restart the stalled economy."
They continued, "The next president must be someone who is strong in economic matters and truly cares about the people's livelihoods," and asserted, "The candidate who best meets these criteria is Lee Jae Myung."
They further emphasized, "He is the only candidate capable of correcting unfairness and polarization, and of leading substantial changes that people can feel through balanced regional development and bold economic reform." They also highlighted, "His proposals for an advanced industry belt and expanded transportation network in the Chungcheong region are visions directly tied to the future and will become a driving force for Korea's growth."
Regarding the need for a change in government, they argued, "The current administration has never responded to repeated requests from Lee Jae Myung, as party leader, to implement economic stimulus measures." They added, "The difficulties caused by the failure to stimulate the economy are beyond description. Unless we change our leader, these problems will continue."
