"Let's Go to Dutasan in Samcheok with Mother to Pick Wild Vegetables"

The 12th Samcheok Hajang Dutasan Wild Vegetable Festival to Be Held from May 9 to 11
Experience and Purchase Clean Highland Wild Vegetables and Medicinal Herbs

On May 7, the city of Samcheok in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Park Sangsoo) announced that the 12th Samcheok Hajang Dutasan Wild Vegetable Festival will be held from May 9 to May 11 at the Baekdudaegan Clean Forest Products Complex Experience Center in Beoncheon-ri, Hajang-myeon, Samcheok.

This festival, hosted by the Samcheok Hajang Dutasan Wild Vegetable Festival Committee and sponsored by the city of Samcheok, will feature an exhibition and sale of wild vegetables, medicinal herbs, and other forest products produced in the clean highland areas of Hajang-myeon, as well as local specialty products from Hajang-myeon.

As side events, the festival will offer a variety of hands-on experiences such as wild vegetable harvesting in the specialized forest product cultivation complex of the Hajang-myeon Leading Forest Management District, making vegetable rice, and rock climbing. There will also be exhibition programs including a Baekdudaegan photo exhibition and a viewing of suiseki and bonsai displays.

Kim Byungsoo, chairperson of the Samcheok Hajang Dutasan Wild Vegetable Festival Committee, said, "We expect this event to widely promote the excellence of clean highland wild vegetables, to vitalize direct transactions between consumers and producers, and to provide a venue for information exchange among forestry workers."
