Korean SMEs Participate in K-Collection, Paving the Way for Entry into Japanese Market

Held in Tokyo, Japan from May 8 to 11

The Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership announced on May 7 that it will host the 'K-Collection' in conjunction with 'KCON Japan 2025'.

Korean SMEs Participate in K-Collection, Paving the Way for Entry into Japanese Market

K-Collection is a business meeting and promotional event designed to promote the products of outstanding Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and support their exports, held in connection with KCON, the global Hallyu cultural festival organized by CJ ENM. Since 2014, it has been carried out as part of the joint overseas expansion support project for large and small businesses, providing SMEs?who often face difficulties entering overseas markets?with opportunities to meet local buyers and consumers. In Japan, this year marks the ninth edition of the event, with a cumulative total of 346 SMEs having participated and achieving export results worth approximately 31.5 billion KRW.

This year, 39 SMEs from promising consumer goods sectors?including cosmetics, food, fashion, and content?will participate in the K-Collection. In particular, support for the cosmetics and food sectors has been expanded compared to the previous year. Among the 39 participating companies, 19 are small business owners with little export experience, who aim to use this event as a stepping stone to enter the Japanese market.

K-Collection will be held over four days in Tokyo, Japan, from May 8 to May 11. On the first day, May 8, a one-on-one export consultation meeting with local Japanese distribution buyers will take place at the Tokyo International Forum. From May 9 to May 11, a promotional event for SME products will be held for KCON attendees at the Makuhari Messe exhibition center in Chiba Prefecture. The promotional event will feature a joint promotional booth in collaboration with Powder Room, a leading Korean beauty platform, and aims to attract visitors and raise brand awareness for participating companies through various events and promotional activities.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership plan to continue serving as a bridgehead for Korean SMEs entering the Japanese market through a variety of online and offline channels even after the event concludes.
