Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province announced that during the 27th Sacheon Waryong Cultural Festival, which took place from May 1 to May 4, the "Sacheon Tourism Comprehensive Promotion Center" operated by the city's Tourism Policy Division attracted significant attention from both local residents and visitors, continuing its great success from last year into this year.
This year, in celebration of the "2025 Year of Visiting Sacheon," the "Sacheon Year of Visit Promotion Center" was also operated simultaneously at the "95th Namwon Chunhyang Festival" (April 30 to May 6) from April 30 to May 4, making every effort to attract tourists and revitalize the local economy.
At this year's Sacheon Waryong Cultural Festival, Sacheon's tourism mascot "Tto-a" received numerous requests for commemorative photos not only from children but also from their accompanying parents and people of all ages. The "Tto-a Dance Challenge," which was launched last year, was also held on the spot, playing a major role in energizing the festival.
Above all, as part of its strategic marketing, Sacheon City promoted its major tourist attractions through the Sacheon Tourism Quiz, and offered a wider variety of games than last year, including claw machines, bingo games, balloon releases, and ttakji-chigi. To celebrate the "Year of Visiting Sacheon," a richer selection of tourism souvenirs such as character dolls, snow globes, smartwatches, and keyrings were given out, encouraging high visitor participation and providing enjoyment at the same time.
In addition, by promoting the selection of Sacheon Sea Cable Car and Aramaru Aquarium as part of the "2025-2026 Korea Tourism Top 100," the event provided an opportunity to boost the pride of local residents in Sacheon.
An official from Sacheon City stated, "As this year is the 'Year of Visiting Sacheon,' we will do our utmost to attract tourists and revitalize the local economy through all-out on-site marketing, including a variety of content and ideas, online marketing, and participation in major festivals and university festivals across the country."
