American nurse in her 30s arrested for sexual relations with 15-year-old stepson
An American nurse in her 30s shocked the public after she had sexual relations with her teenage stepson and then attempted to justify her actions to her husband by saying, "He reminds me of you when you were young." She was eventually arrested after the incident came to light.
According to foreign media outlets such as the New York Post on May 5 (local time), a woman named Alexis Paul Yeats, 35, who resides in Florida, was reported to have had sexual intercourse with her stepson last July while watching a movie together after her husband left for work. Subsequently, she was arrested by the police and charged with having sexual relations with her 15-year-old stepson.
It is reported that Yeats's husband became aware of the situation upon returning home. The couple then had a severe argument, and the boy was sent to his grandparents' house.
When her husband called her a "child sex offender," Yeats attempted to justify herself by saying, "He reminds me of you when you were young." The next day, she called her stepson and said she wanted to continue the relationship as long as her husband did not find out, and made a comment that appeared to evaluate his sexual performance, saying, "7 out of 10."
Afterwards, the stepson expressed that he no longer wanted to live with Yeats. Although Yeats pleaded not guilty to the charge of sexual assault of a minor, the Florida Department of Health revoked her nursing license.
The Florida Department of Health, upon learning of the case, stated, "Nursing is a trusted profession. Therefore, it is important to demonstrate sound judgment and morality." In a statement, the department further pointed out, "Paul Yeats's decision to engage in a sexual relationship with a minor demonstrates a lack of the sound judgment and moral character required of a licensed nurse."
