Special Events at the 'Better Than Flowers' Library
On May 6, Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae) announced that it will host a series of cultural events for local residents and tourists at the Gokseong Children's Library under the theme 'Better Than Flowers' Library, during the 15th Gokseong World Rose Festival from May 16 to 26.
This event will feature a variety of children's song performances and reading culture experiences, offering visitors a unique cultural experience. In particular, on May 18, there will be a lecture on the picture book 'How Goblins Read Picture Books' by local children's author Kim Seongbeom, as well as a participatory book concert titled 'Children's Songs and Yodels,' where children's songs will be performed using Swiss instruments. On May 24, the program will present children's songs and K-pop jazz themed around flowers, titled 'Blooming Jazz, Blossoming Gokseong.'
Additionally, on May 17 and 24, there will be a one-day class for parents and children called 'Adorable Character Lunchbox,' and a preserved flower crafting program titled 'The Rose Loved by the Little Prince.' On May 18 and 25, a special 'Bouncy 3D Immersive Fairy Tale Experience' (3D five-sided) will be offered to spark children's interest in reading.
All programs can be registered for in advance on the library's website, and on-site registration will also be available on the day of each event. Further details can be found on the library's website.
A library official stated, "We have prepared a variety of events that families can enjoy together," and added, "We hope visitors will enjoy the Rose Festival and also create precious memories at the library."
