The district will invest 1.6 billion won to replace floors and walls, upgrade outdated heating and cooling systems and lighting, improve kitchens and restrooms, refurbish indoor and outdoor play areas, introduce eco-friendly materials, and install safety devices.

The renovations will take place after receiving applications from daycare centers and conducting preliminary on-site inspections. As of April, work at 32 centers had been completed, bringing the overall progress rate to approximately 45%. The district aims to complete all projects by the end of the year.

Gangnam District Mayor Cho Sungmyung stated, "Through these environmental improvements, we will protect infants and young children from harmful factors and establish a Gangnam-style childcare environment where parents can leave their children with peace of mind." He added, "We will continue to invest in creating a childcare environment that satisfies both parents and children."
