On May 5, the Daejeon City Government held the 103rd Children's Day commemorative event at the Daejeon Children's Hall.
The event was attended by Mayor Lee Jangwoo, City Council Chairman Cho Wonhui, Superintendent of Education Seol Dongho, and others. The program included the reading of the Children's Rights Charter, awards for exemplary children and contributors to child welfare, a drawing contest awards ceremony, and the singing of the Children's Day song.
After the ceremony, a variety of programs were offered, including family recreation, experience booths, a performance by a tall clown, and a balloon circus performance, providing joyful memories for children and their families.
A city official stated, "We must all support and encourage children so they can nurture their limitless dreams," adding, "We will continue to make every effort in education, care, and welfare to create a city where children are happy."
Meanwhile, all proceeds from the experience booths operated on this day will be donated to the Community Chest of Korea and used to help neighbors in need within the region.
