"Democratic Party Directly Threatens Judiciary, Engages in Ultra-Constitutional Rampage"
The People Power Party criticized the Democratic Party of Korea, which has proposed establishing a special court for insurrection, calling it "a blatant violation of the rule of law and an ultra-constitutional rampage that undermines the constitutional order," and accused the party of "collectively going into a frenzy to protect Lee Jaemyung."
Spokesperson Ham Inkyung made these remarks in a commentary titled, "The Democratic Party, not content with the Democratic Police Substation, now seeks to establish an Insurrection Court?an anti-constitutional idea born from a DNA of censorship and control."
Spokesperson Ham stated, "Since the Supreme Court's decision to remand Lee Jaemyung's case for violating the Public Official Election Act with a guilty verdict, the Democratic Party's response has become increasingly excessive." She explained, "After warning of a confirmation hearing, a parliamentary investigation, and a special prosecutor against Chief Justice Cho Heedae, the party has now gone so far as to mention the establishment of a special court for insurrection, openly threatening the judiciary."
She continued, "The Democratic Party's idea of creating an Insurrection Court is the most dangerous manifestation of the DNA of censorship politics, which seeks to monitor and control the people in order to maintain power." She argued, "They are attempting to condition and incite the public to hold distorted views, even in the face of proper judicial decisions."
She further criticized, "While failing to replace a candidate with serious criminal charges, the Democratic Party is retaliating against the judiciary that judged those crimes, with Lee Jaemyung at the center of it all."
In conclusion, she emphasized, "The People Power Party will firmly stand against the Democratic Party's anti-constitutional tyranny, which seeks to undermine common sense through intimidation, censorship, and control, in order to defend democracy."
