Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae) announced on May 5 that it will begin operating a pre-approval diagnostic service for factory permits starting in May, enabling companies to establish factories quickly and efficiently.
The pre-approval diagnostic service for factory permits is operated based on a digital system currently being jointly developed by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to reduce the costs and time required for obtaining permits. The service provides information on suitable factory locations by industry type, as well as various legal and regulatory information. This is intended to assist companies by providing advance guidance on site selection and environmental regulations, which are the main challenges in establishing individually located factories.
The pre-approval diagnostic service is available through FactoryOn, which is already used for factory-related civil complaints. However, the service is not provided for verifying locations in regions that are not designated as pilot municipalities.
An official from the county stated, "We hope that the pre-approval diagnostic service for factory permits will continue to improve beyond its current functions and provide a favorable business environment for entrepreneurs wishing to establish factories."
Meanwhile, the county is currently accepting applications for the sale of lots in the Gokseong Ungok Specialized Agricultural and Industrial Complex (from April 10 to May 26). In addition to attracting companies through the sale of lots in the industrial complex, the county is striving to create a business-friendly city image by piloting services that can assist with the establishment of individually located factories.
