Han: "Let's Meet at a Convenient Time and Place"
Focus on Whether Full-Fledged Unification Talks Will Begin
Independent presidential candidate and former Prime Minister Han Ducksoo proposed on the 5th to Kim Moonsu, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party and former Minister of Employment and Labor, "Let's meet today at a convenient time and place."
Han made this suggestion while having tea with Kim after arriving at Jogyesa Temple in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the same day to attend the 'Buddha's Birthday Celebration Ceremony for the Buddhist Era 2569.' According to Han's camp, Kim responded with "Yes" and nodded.
As a result, attention is focused on whether the two candidates will begin full-fledged discussions on unifying the conservative camp's candidates.
Han's camp conveyed on the 3rd their intention to entrust the People Power Party with decisions regarding the method and timing of unification. Subsequently, the People Power Party officially announced the establishment of a 'unification promotion body' for the two candidates the previous day.
