On May 4, Gwangmyeong City announced that it had signed a business agreement on May 2 at the Lifelong Learning Center with BYU Co., Ltd., a social enterprise, and the Department of Community Urban Regeneration at the Graduate School of Impact Management, Sungkonghoe University, to promote the "Gyeonggi Province Lifelong Learning Opportunity Special Zone Project."

This agreement is part of the "Lifelong Learning Local Asset-Based Community Platform Construction Project," which is being promoted as a result of the city's selection for the "Gyeonggi Province Lifelong Learning Opportunity Special Zone Operation Project" contest.

This project aims to strengthen the capabilities of graduates from the local autonomy college, nurturing and organizing human resources by fostering them as community leaders who can address local issues and propose policies.

The participating organizations plan to: operate the Gyeonggi Province Lifelong Learning Opportunity Special Zone and jointly plan and develop educational programs; expand learning opportunities and share educational content for local residents; mutually utilize each organization's human and material resources; and collaborate on practice-oriented projects to solve local issues.

In this process, Yoon Yeojin, CEO of BYU Co., Ltd., a social enterprise specializing in educational services, will serve as a mentor for graduates of the autonomy college, leveraging her experience with the college. Kim Changjin, Director of the Department of Community Urban Regeneration at the Graduate School of Impact Management, Sungkonghoe University, will participate in designing educational programs for graduates, working to create a citizen-led learning ecosystem.

Hwang Heemin, Head of the Lifelong Learning Project Headquarters of Gwangmyeong City, stated, "By collaborating with these two institutions, we will strengthen the learning foundation so that any citizen can design their own life and bring change to the local community anytime, anywhere," and added, "We will continue to pursue lifelong learning policies that provide practical benefits to citizens' lives and the local community."
