On May 4, Jeonnam Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services announced that it held the "2025 2nd Quarter Jeonnam City and County Agricultural Technology Center Directors' Work Council" in Hampyeong County to share agricultural issues and strengthen cooperation between cities and counties.
The council was attended by Kang Hachun, Deputy Governor of Hampyeong County, Kim Haengran, Director of Jeonnam Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services, as well as the directors of the Agricultural Technology Centers from 21 cities and counties in Jeonnam.
During the meeting, in-depth discussions were held on current agricultural issues and research cooperation between the province and cities/counties, including the development of crops to respond to climate change, solutions to field difficulties in agriculture, and fostering young farmers.
In addition, participants shared best practices in rural guidance projects between cities and counties, and explored ways to strengthen research cooperation and the on-site technology dissemination system between the province and cities/counties.
Kang Hachun, Deputy Governor of Hampyeong County, stated, "This council has become a meaningful occasion for the province and cities/counties to come together for the sustainable development of agriculture in Jeonnam," and added, "We will continue to do our best to enhance the competitiveness of local agriculture by distributing practical technologies centered on farmers and implementing field-oriented rural guidance projects."
