"The Insurrection Is Not Over...
They Are Waiting for a Chance to Revive"
Park Chandai, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on May 4 that, in response to the Supreme Court's decision to remand Lee Jaemyung's violation of the Public Official Election Act case for a guilty verdict, "The National Assembly must suppress this judicial insurrection with its legitimate authority."
Park, who also serves as the party's chief campaign manager, made these remarks during an emergency caucus meeting on the same day. He said, "The Yoon Sukyeol insurrectionist forces and their cohorts, along with the entrenched judicial establishment and the judicial cartel, are conspiring to make a final desperate attempt."
Park continued, "The insurrection is not over. Insurrectionist forces are still lurking, waiting for an opportunity to revive. The Supreme Court's intervention in the presidential election on May 1, which I call the '5·1 judicial insurrection,' under the slogan 'Lee Jaemyung must never be allowed,' is clear evidence of this. Political prosecutors under Yoon Sukyeol, far-right conservatives, and certain judges colluding with them are attempting to carry out a final coup to protect their vested interests."
He added, "Yoon Sukyeol's political prosecutors tried to bring down the opposition leader, who enjoys overwhelming public support, through hundreds of raids, exhaustive investigations, and baseless indictments, but they failed. The People Power Party and far-right conservative coalition forces also failed in their attempt to save Yoon Sukyeol, the ringleader of the insurrection. Now, the reactionary vested interests are joining hands with Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Huidae to once again attempt to 'take down Lee Jaemyung.'"
He went on to say, "They are trying to eliminate the most prominent presidential candidate, reduce the sovereign people to mere livestock, and swallow the entire Republic of Korea, which our people have built with their sweat and blood."
Park concluded, "Now, the final battle to end the insurrection and defend the Republic of Korea remains. There is one month left, and letting our guard down is not just a mistake, but defeat and self-destruction. We must mobilize every available means and method to fight. In the name of the Constitution and the National Assembly, we must prevent a second and third insurrection."
