Xi Jinping to Pay State Visit to Russia on May 7... Strategic China-Russia Cooperation Talks with Putin (Update) Shinhwa Yonhap News

Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to Russia from May 7 to May 10.

On May 4, Chinese state-run Shinhwa Yonhap News reported, "President Xi will visit Moscow at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and during his stay, he is also scheduled to attend the 80th anniversary celebrations of the Soviet Union's victory in the Great Patriotic War."

Shortly after the report, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on its official website, "During this visit, President Xi will meet with President Putin to hold strategic discussions on the direction of China-Russia relations and major international and regional issues in the context of the new international situation."

The ministry further emphasized, "China and Russia will deepen cooperation within various multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations (UN), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and BRICS. They will also work together to promote the unity of Global South countries and to ensure that global governance moves in a desirable direction."

It added, "The two countries firmly oppose unilateralism and coercive actions, and will jointly advance a fair and orderly multipolar world as well as mutually beneficial economic globalization."
