On May 4, Kim Moonsoo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, visited Jangja Village, a community for Hansen’s disease patients in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, and said, "I learned here in Jangja Village what direction administration should take." He was moved to tears when a resident read a letter aloud.

Kim has maintained a relationship with Jangja Village since taking office as Governor of Gyeonggi Province in 2006. In 2010, to mark his 100th day as governor, he spent two days and one night in Jangja Village, and has frequently visited the area to communicate with residents. He also worked with the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to legalize unauthorized dyeing factories in Jangja Village by converting them into an industrial complex.

On the morning of the same day, Kim visited the National Cemetery in Dongjak District, Seoul, to pay his respects at the graves of former presidents. He then attended an inaugural meeting of the People Power Party’s election committee, followed by his visit to the Hansen’s disease community. Later, he plans to visit Jeil Market in Uijeongbu to meet merchants and ask for their support.
