In a notice issued on this day, Lee's team stated, "There have been consecutive reports of plots to attack the candidate. As a result, it has become difficult for the candidate to have direct contact with people from now on. We kindly ask for your understanding."

During a visit to Jungang Market in Sokcho, Gangwon Province, Lee said, "Due to security concerns, I will not be able to shake hands starting today, and I ask for your understanding. We've been told that something may happen today as well, so we need to be careful."

On Facebook the same day, Lee wrote, "I wanted to warmly hold each and every person's hand and offer sincere comfort and encouragement, but now I am told that I must share my feelings with just a nod."

Lee expressed regret, saying, "It is heartbreaking how the world has come to this. Even if it is difficult to hold hands, we are one. We must unite and achieve victory." He added, "Let us build a world together where everyone can freely hold hands, where safety, respect, and love abound. I am sorry, and I am also grateful."

Regarding reports and tips about assassination threats against Lee on this day, the police stated, "So far, there have been no such matters disseminated through the overall police functions."
